Description

London Broil is a classic beef dish that’s marinated for flavor, then broiled or grilled to perfection. It’s typically made with top round steak, known for its lean nature and flavorful profile after marinating. This dish is perfect for a hearty meal with a side of vegetables or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs top round steak
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, honey, pepper, and rosemary for the marinade.
  2. Place steak in a zip-top bag and pour marinade over it. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat broiler. Remove steak from marinade and place on a broiler pan.
  4. Broil 4-5 inches from heat source, about 8-10 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
  5. Let rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice against the grain before serving.

Notes

  • Marinating time can significantly affect the tenderness of the meat.
  • For best results, let the meat come to room temperature before broiling.
