Ingredients

🥩 1 pound ground beef
🥕 1 cup diced carrots
🥔 2 cups mashed potatoes
🧅 1 cup diced onions
🌽 1 cup corn kernels
🍅 1 cup diced tomatoes
🥄 2 tablespoons tomato paste
🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced
🥄 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
🥄 1 teaspoon dried thyme
🥄 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
🥄 1 teaspoon salt
🥄 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🥄 2 tablespoons olive oil
🥛 1/2 cup milk
🧈 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

🍽️ Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

🍳 Cook ground beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic, and cook until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

🥕 Add vegetables: Stir in diced carrots, corn kernels, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, until vegetables are slightly softened.

🥔 Prepare mashed potatoes: While the beef mixture is cooking, prepare mashed potatoes. Boil peeled and diced potatoes until fork-tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

🥧 Assemble shepherd’s pie: Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

🍽️ Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

🍲 Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your comforting Homemade Shepherd’s Pie!
