Description

Classic homemade churros – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated with cinnamon sugar. Perfectly golden, these delightful treats are a popular choice for a sweet snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and 2 tbsp vegetable oil. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 375°F (190°C).
  • Spoon dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  • Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden, about 2 minutes per side, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl, then roll churros in the mixture to coat.

Notes

  • Serve churros warm with a dipping sauce like chocolate or caramel.
  • Ensure the oil is hot enough to prevent sogginess.
