Tender bok choy sautéed in a savory garlic sauce. This simple and healthy dish is the perfect side for any Asian-inspired meal.
Ingredients
1 lb baby bok choy, washed and halved
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 cup vegetable broth
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp cornstarch (optional for thicker sauce)
2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
Instructions
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
Add the bok choy, stir-frying for about 3 minutes until it starts to wilt.
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and vegetable broth.
Pour the sauce over the bok choy and toss to coat. Let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with water, then pour into the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens.
Notes
- You can add more garlic for a stronger flavor.
- For extra umami, add a splash of oyster sauce or hoisin sauce.
- Adjust the cooking time based on the size of your bok choy.
