Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 3 teaspoons hot chili sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate shrimp in buttermilk for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, hot chili sauce, and garlic powder for the sauce. Set aside.
  3. Dredge shrimp in cornstarch.
  4. Fry shrimp in oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
  5. Toss fried shrimp in the sauce, garnish with green onions, and serve.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, bake the breaded shrimp at 400°F until crisp.
  • Adjust the heat level by increasing or decreasing hot chili sauce.
