Ingredients

  • 8 oz. elbow macaroni
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, and drain.
  2. Cook the bacon until crispy, and crumble.
  3. In a separate pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add flour, and cook for a minute.
  5. Add the milk, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and cooked macaroni, and stir until the cheese is melted.
  7. Add the cooked bacon, and serve.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try using smoked cheddar cheese or adding a dash of paprika.
  • Feel free to customize with your favorite cheeses or additional toppings like breadcrumbs.
