- 2 vine ripe tomatoes (diced)
- 5 fresh basil leaves (chiffonade)
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (divided)

- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 Italian style baguette (sliced)
- 1 whole clove garlic
Instructions
Prepare the Tomato Mixture
In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes , fresh basil leaves , 2 tablespoons of the extra virgin olive oil , dried oregano , pinch of salt , and balsamic vinegar . Mix well.
Prepare the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet.
Brush the remaining 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over the slices.
Toast the bread in the oven for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, take the whole clove of garlic and gently rub it on the top of each slice of toasted baguette.
Spoon the tomato mixture on top of each garlic-rubbed baguette slice.
Notes
- For the best flavor, use tomatoes that are in season and fully ripe.
- Rubbing the bread with garlic infuses it with flavor without overwhelming the other ingredients.
