Ingredients

Instructions

| 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan. | 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. | 3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined. | 4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. | 5. Stir in the applesauce and vanilla extract until smooth. | 6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix. | 7. Fold in the chopped nuts or raisins if using. | 8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. | 9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. | 10.
