Description

This 7 Layer Dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s perfect for parties, game days, or family gatherings. It’s loaded with layers of classic flavors like refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, and more, creating a delicious dip that’s as beautiful as it is tasty!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup guacamole (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa (thick and chunky works best)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bean Layer:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the refried beans with the taco seasoning until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of a serving dish (a 9×13-inch dish or a deep round pie dish works well).
  2. Add the Guacamole Layer:
    • Spread the guacamole evenly over the bean layer.
  3. Add the Sour Cream Layer:
    • Spread the sour cream over the guacamole layer, creating a smooth and even surface.
  4. Top with Salsa:
    • Spread the salsa over the sour cream. Ensure the salsa is thick to avoid excess liquid pooling.
  5. Add the Cheese:
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the salsa layer.
  6. Garnish with Toppings:
    • Sprinkle the chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives, and chopped green onions evenly over the cheese.
  7. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve with tortilla chips or veggies for dipping!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a layer of diced jalapeños or chopped cilantro.
  • Customize your layers with your favorite toppings, like diced avocado or beans mixed with hot sauce.
  • This dip is best served chilled and can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
