Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
- 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup guacamole (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa (thick and chunky works best)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
Instructions
- Prepare the Bean Layer:
- In a medium bowl, mix the refried beans with the taco seasoning until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of a serving dish (a 9×13-inch dish or a deep round pie dish works well).
- Add the Guacamole Layer:
- Spread the guacamole evenly over the bean layer.
- Add the Sour Cream Layer:
- Spread the sour cream over the guacamole layer, creating a smooth and even surface.
- Top with Salsa:
- Spread the salsa over the sour cream. Ensure the salsa is thick to avoid excess liquid pooling.
- Add the Cheese:
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the salsa layer.
- Garnish with Toppings:
- Sprinkle the chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives, and chopped green onions evenly over the cheese.
- Chill and Serve:
- Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve with tortilla chips or veggies for dipping!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a layer of diced jalapeños or chopped cilantro.
- Customize your layers with your favorite toppings, like diced avocado or beans mixed with hot sauce.
- This dip is best served chilled and can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
